A House Divided: The Legacy of “Barry O” – Part 1

By Richard Allen – October 10, 2022

Let me preface this blog with an explanation. Our former president, whose picture is shown at the top of this blog, went by the name Barry for much of his life. Out of respect to the office, we will refer to him as “Barry O” in this blog. Abraham Lincoln and “Barry O” were both lawyers who got into national politics from the State of Illinois. But any other similarities between these two men stop there. In most ways, they are a contrast of “light and dark,” with no reference to skin color, but rather their ideology and behavior in the highest office in the land. Lincoln loved this country and fought to end slavery – all to keep America “a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” Some might argue that “Lincoln gave his life to unite a divided country,” while “Barry O” has “spent his life trying to divide it.” As a result, he’s brought only misery and bondage. While enjoying the liberties and privileges of this country, “Barry O” has made it clear that he hates this country as founded and wants desperately to “punish it for its crimes” (real or imagined). As I reflect on the destructive policies that resulted from “Barry O’s” eight years in office and his behavior since, it’s my contention that he did more to foment hatred along racial, class and religious lines than any other leader in U.S. History. “Barry O” was our Divider and Chief!

As most know – Abraham Lincoln was the first elected Republican president, a party founded for the express purpose of “ending slavery” in the United States. At the time of his election, the United States was on the verge of a Civil War – all because the Democrat Party in the South wanted to keep their slaves. Sadly, “Barry O”, a one-term senator from Illinois had dedicated his life to the same goals of the Democrat party, doing everything in his power to keep Black Americans second class citizens and force many others into slavery to the government. Another irony is that Abraham Lincoln, realizing that slavery as an institution could not continue, said these famous words about “A House Divided” in his acceptance speech to run for the U.S. Senate from Illinois – a race he lost to Stephen A. Douglas. Lincoln gave this speech in 1858 at the State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois. His address, given after the Dredd Scott decision (1857) – a decision that ruled that even run-a-way slaves who made it to free states, were the lawful property of their slave owners from whom they had escaped in the south. In his speech, Lincoln was actually quoting Jesus’ own words from the New Testament. Candidate Lincoln was also concerned with the passage of the Kansas-Nebraska Act (1856), a bad piece of legislation proposed by none other than Democrat Senator Stephen A. Douglas and signed into law by Democrat President, Franklin Pierce. The Kansas-Nebraska Act allowed each new state to decide the slavery issue for themselves, effectively setting aside the Missouri Compromise (1821) that forbade new state admission to the Union as Slave States.

Lincoln’s House Divided speech was given on June 16, 1858. Here’s a part of Lincoln’s timeless speech:

"A house divided against itself cannot stand." I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved – I do not expect the house to fall – but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other. Either the opponents of slavery will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward till it shall become alike lawful in all the States, old as well as new, North as well as South.” https://www.owleyes.org/text/house-divided-speech/read/text-of-lincolns-speech#root-4

I give this piece of history to remind everyone that this is the Democrat Party’s history, but even more – the Democrats are still the party of hatred and exploitation. This is the Democrat Party that enacted Jim Crow Laws and formed the Ku Klux Klan (Democrat Nathan Bedford Forest), as its military wing to intimidate newly freed Black Americans – often preventing them from voting! This is the Democrat Party of George Wallace standing at the school-house door at the University of Alabama – preventing the admission of Black Students to White schools. So when I call “Barry O” our “Divider and Chief,” I’m not saying that he is the origin of this hatred or division practiced by the Democrat Party. No, it had been there a long time. But what “Barry O” did, was set the country back 50 years, igniting racial tensions and rioting. But most important, “Barry O” used the power of government to teach a whole generation of young Black Americans to hate. And this hatred has created “A House Divided.” We are only just now beginning to grasp the devastation he’s caused. And the people whom he has indoctrinated with this message of hatred are mostly young Black Americans.

At the time of “Barry O’s” election the country was waiting with anticipation for the young, charismatic Black president to prove that the sin of slavery – our national scourgewas finally behind us. Little did we know, but this young Black president had been raised to hate, and influenced by other men who were virulent haters like Frank Marshall Davis, Saul Alinsky, Bill Ayers and Pastor Jeremiah (God d*mn America) Wright. I’m guessing that on some level “Barry O” actually believes that he’s trying to make America more just, fair and uplifting. But his plans for renewal are sketchy at best. And if you judge “Barry O” by where his “woke agenda” has taken us since 2009, and now during his third term as President (I’m actually talking about Joe Brandon’s current administration), it sure doesn’t look more just or fair, and certainly not uplifting. What we see is the bitter fruit of hatred and division to which he dedicated his life, now bearing the miserable fruit of Anti-Fa (antifascist) Violence, BLM Riots and random violence being perpetrated on innocent “non-black” Americans by troubled inner-city youth at an alarming rate. Scripture warns us about those who stir up hatred and division among brothers:

“There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers” (Proverbs 6:16-19).

Unlike any leader we’ve had before, “Barry O” jumped at the chance to sow discord – even before the facts were known. It started in Barry’s first term when a black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. broke into his own home after coming home from vacation and couldn’t gain access. Two Cambridge Police officers, one white and the other black showed up, and when Gates became belligerent with the police, he was cuffed. Barry, our Divider and Chief lost no time in commenting on the situation – not as a statesman or conducting himself with the decorum expected from one holding the highest office of the land, but as a black activist looking to score points. Commenting nationally on TV, he said the white officer had acted stupidly – before he knew the facts on the ground. But this was the modus operandi of “Barry O.” Turns out that this Harvard Professor had a “chip on his shoulder” too, just like “Barry O.” Instead of calmly defusing the situation, he got in the police officer’s face, yelling that he was being targeted for being Black.

But neither “Barry O,” nor his Attorney General wasted any time in condemning a justifiable “self-defense” in the Travon Martin case, or the appropriate police action in Ferguson, Missouri. In Ferguson, “Barry O” and his Attorney General sowed their activist discord into a full-blown riot that consumed numerous black businesses and torched black neighborhoods. It’s just how he rolls. I would bore you if I listed all the other times “Barry O” and his team have interjected themselves before knowing what happened – all in an effort to stir up strife, including the Baltimore Riots in 2015. But the most despicable thing “Barry O” did was turn the United States Government against middle-class, flag-waving Americans of all colors. His labeling the Tea Party as “terrorists,” and using the IRS and other government agencies to harass patriotic Americans was unforgivable. He rewired most government agencies to be the political and military agencies for the “Globalist-Democrat-Party.” And as he was leaving office in 2016, he authorized an investigation into the candidate from the other political party – a candidate who ended up winning the presidency – of being a Russian spy, all to sway the election to another “Divider,” named Hillary! That discord is still with us seven years later!

As a result of “Barry O’s” sad behavior, Americans no longer trust their government.

Next week we’ll look at the roots of “Barry O’s” hatred for America and how he became the Divider and Chief. Who were the people in his life who influenced him? And who helped shape Barry “O’s” political and social ideology? Here’s a man who never suffered a day of hunger or want in his entire life, went to the best universities and was launched into politics as the “great healer who would bring hope and change.” So what made him promote division, hatred and violence? Sadly, these are his signature successes as president. Ultimately, like all of us, he will give an account for his actions in office. Either he’ll be covered by the blood of Jesus Christ and forgiven and restored by God, or he’ll give an account for sowing discord and division while in office.

They say that “what goes around, comes around.” So true, there is a day of Reckoning yet to come.
