“Anything Goes” is the title to a 1934 Broadway musical with the lead song written by Cole Porter. This musical is set on the ‘SS American,’ a luxury liner crossing from New York to England, where Billy Crocker, a lowly assistant to a Wall Street tycoon, stows away on board hoping to woo a long-lost love, the wealthy Hope Harcourt who’s also on board. Needless to say, the voyage is loaded with intrigue and comedy, with interesting characters and raucous fun at every turn. The term Anything Goes, in our culture has since morphed to mean unbridled behavior, often sensual, that has no bounds. It’s in this use of the term that I’d like to review Atheist thinker and lecturer, Sam Harris’ bizarre comments on Hunter Biden and his rationale for how “The End Justifies The Means.” Know it or not, Sam is sliding down the slippery slope.
While I have covered this before, it’s worth re-visiting. Why is Donald Trump such a threat to America? The answers are not only garbled, incoherent and hyperbolic, but also, often explained with an emotional hyperbole reserved for Mass Murderers like Mao, Stalin and Hitler. While they hurl plenty of epithets: Racist, Anti-Semitic, Anti-Gay-Bigot, Anti-Immigrant – they never really explain any factual indictments to back up their emotional hype. For example, Trump University, a failed endeavor by the Donald – is explained as the worst financial rip-off in history. Except it’s not, and doesn’t even come close to the criminal behavior they suggest. But one thing is clear – the Emotion invested by those explaining “why the orange man is so bad” is way over the top. Truth be told, Donald J. Trump has been investigated more than any wealthy tycoon in history – and apparently has so little dirty laundry, his enemies are forced to flat out make it up! Like it or not, it’s a “religious tenet” of the New World Order, where Trump is so evil and the threat is so serious: Anything Goes – if it will stop him! Welcome to the Democrat-world where “The End Justifies The Means.’
Which gets me to Sam Harris’ main point: Trump, and what he did in his one and only term as president, was “SOOOOOOOOOO BAD,” that any action, no matter how reprehensible or illegal – committed by his enemies is justified – IF it prevents him from getting back into office. This becomes circular reasoning on their part: “Trump is so bad and evil because of who he is and what he’s done that we can, Lie, Cheat, Steal, Bribe, Violate the Law, Collude with Foreign Enemies, Deny Constitutional Rights, or blatantly cheat in a presidential election. And now almost two years later we know what they did: Stopped the vote count in seven states on election night and Electronically Fudged the Numbers using Dominion software, printed phony ballots and had 2,000+ Mules stuff mail boxes, investigated everyone in Trump’s family or who was a Friend in search of a crime . . . . and the list goes on. They would argue, if you had the chance to prevent Hitler from being born and it required your killing him as an infant, wouldn’t it be justified? So just like Cole Porter’s song title “Anything Goes,” evil and reprehensible behavior is OK if it’s used in what they deem to be good cause.
To start with, there is virtually not enough evidence of Trump’s crimes to get a conviction – even for a misdemeanor. They’re now at the point where they are going to “Indict” a former president for a Violation of the Records Act, and try to drag him into endless court proceedings for the next 10 years all to keep him from running for president in 2024. This may be the final stage of the Trump Derangement Syndrome: “A psychological disease caused by demagoguing propaganda from the Left to which the mentally unstable, faithless and unhappy are susceptible.” It doesn’t matter whether you are wearing a “pink vagina hat” at the women’s march denouncing Trump, repeating the “Charlotte Lie” that Trump called Neo-Nazis normal people, or your Johnny Depp wondering “where is John Wilkes Booth,” an actor who killed a president – “when you need him?” TDS doesn’t need facts, nor can they even quote their nemesis (DJT) accurately, it’s just all emotional venting of their mindless hatred. We hate him because he’s evil, and he’s evil because we hate him! ORANGE MAN BAD, NOTHING MORE TO SAY!
Sam Harris, who once seemed rational or at least measured, is now in the advanced stages of TDS – to the point where he showed how immoral the Progressive-New-World-Order-Lefties are:
In a now-viral interview on the “TRIGGERnometry” podcast, Harris, 55, happily dismissed those who said it was “completely unfair” to have shut down The Post’s Twitter account to silence its explosive reporting. The influential philosopher noted how critics called it “a left-wing conspiracy to deny the presidency to Donald Trump.” “Absolutely it was. Absolutely. But I think it was warranted,” the “Waking Up” author claimed. New York Post cover for Friday, March 18, 2022, headlined, "All the news that's fit to print ...once Biden is elected." Harris said silencing The Post’s reporting “absolutely” was a “left-wing conspiracy to deny the presidency to Donald Trump,” one he felt “was warranted.” “I don’t care what’s in Hunter Biden’s” laptop, he admitted, making clear that “there’s nothing” the troubled first son could do to alarm him. “At that point, Hunter Biden literally could have had the corpses of children in his basement. I would not have cared,” Harris insisted. The author further made it clear he supported quashing shocking info from the first son’s laptopeven if it showed the “scope of [President] Joe Biden’s corruption,” noting stories accusing the commander-in-chief of “getting kickbacks from Hunter Biden’s deals in Ukraine” or “China.” Harris was interrupted by one of his two interviewers, Konstantin Kisin, who said he “really struggled” with his guest’s troubling admission. “I’m interested in democracy,” Kisin told Harris. “You’re saying you are content with a left-wing conspiracy to prevent somebody being democratically re-elected as president.” https://nypost.com/2022/08/19/sam-harris-defends-silencing-the-post-on-hunter-biden/
Like so many others have pointed out, Sam Harris has told us who he really is: A Far-Left-Woke-Demagogue who doesn’t care about the Law, Freedom of the Press, Corruption or tainted justice, as long as it he gets the political ends that he desires. The “means are justified by the end!” With this rationale, Mao, Stalin and Hitler killed over 100 Million people last century, all for a “greater good” (end) they thought made their atrocities justified. This may be the way of the world as sadly history shows. But it is not the way the God of Heaven sees things. This is tantamount to saying: “Let us do evil that good may come of it” (Romans 3:8). The bad news for Sam Harris and “all those who love and make a lie” (Revelation 22:15) is actually good news for God’s people: There will one day be a reckoning!
How ironic, while the Deep State and all their talking heads in the Media insist there was no cheating in the 2020 election, Sam Harris lets the cat out of the bag and tells us in so many words: “Of course there was cheating, we had to do it because Trump was such a threat to our way of life, we had to stop him.” As more and more evidence comes to light, it appears that a substantial effort was made and numerous people took part in the 2020 Cheat. The latest video shows U.S. Postal workers involved in “ballot trafficking” in Detroit. Just think about that for a minute. Government employees, with a vested interest in the Government padding their employment and over-generous pensions – interfering in the electoral process to elect a fellow crony to office. Who cares about right and wrong, as long as we keep the Orange Man from legitimately being elected, we’ll be OK. If Trump gets back in, his two-terms in office would reverse the trend away from power being concentrated in the hands of our Deep State friends – and give it back to the people. Who cares about the “consent of the governed,” we want power and privilege! But what they fear most is that Trump would investigate and reveal their crimes to the public – and end their cushy lives of privilege.
Sam Harris is not a new phenomenon; the world has always been full of Sam Harris’ – who’ve sold out their own country – all for their own interest from the beginning. In the end, this is what “The End Justifies The Means” really boils down to. Nothing so noble as saving the Republic, but rather – personal enrichment at the cost of the public good. What Sam did was to offer a brief moment of honesty among a political class of people who have figured out how to make a good living at the public’s expense. No doubt, he partially walked it back because, like most of the Deep Staters, he doesn’t want to lose his station in life.
In closing, I often say something like this: “If America as founded survives, there will be thousands of books written and movies made about the ‘Deep State Coup’ that almost toppled the government of ‘We the People.’ ” That’s a big IF, and at this point, it appears that the Deep State Coup will easily win. Sadly, the more we hear about all of those defending the Deep State Corruption, and working hard to destroy Trump, the more we learn that they are themselves bribed, blackmailed or bamboozled into compliance – fearful that they’ll go to jail if Trump brings their scam to an end.
I pray that God would bring a spirit of revival, and once again stir men and women to take a stand for Truth and Righteousness. If He doesn’t, America will go the way of all other failed empires.
