How Could These Two Books Be So Far Apart?

In the 2016 Election, there was an “honest moment” displayed by a completely “Woke, Kool-Aid Drinking” Democrat, none other than movie-maker, Michael Moore!  I might blog on Moore at some future time, but for now, let me observe that: Moore, from Roger & Me fame – a movie about the excessive salary and insensitivity of Roger Smith, then the CEO of General Motors – decried the layoffs of 30,000 GM workers in Flint Michigan. Moore went on to make several other low-budget, yet commercially profitable films, and in the process became a multi-millionaire, while pretending to be a champion of the working class. It turns out that Moore is no champion of the little guy at all! He’s just another “attention-seeking Liberal” looking to make a fast buck. But for one brief moment in 2016, he explained the attraction of Donald Trump to working-class voters. 

Here’s a brief snippet of what he said:

“[Trump is] saying the things to people who are hurting,’ said Moore. And it’s why every beaten-down, nameless, forgotten working stiff who used to be part of what was called the middle class loves Trump. He is the human Molotov cocktail that they’ve been waiting for. The human hand grenade that they can legally throw into the system that stole their lives from them. And on November 8th, Election Day — although they’ve lost their jobs, although they’ve been foreclosed on by the bank, next came the divorce and now the wife and kids are gone, the car has been repo-ed, they haven’t had a real vacation in years, they’re stuck with the s**tty Obamacare Bronze plan where you can’t even get a f**king Percocet - they have essentially lost everything they had, he continued. ‘Except one thing. Wow, apart from the deleted expletives, Moore is spot on. From time to time we do hear an occasional Democrat tell the truth instead of the standard “spin.” I think 2020 has seen a similar act of open honesty by a Democrat – actually saying in public what everyone already knows: The Uni-party (no real difference between Republicans and Democrats) in Washington D.C. doesn’t give a rip about the working man or woman in America!  That person was Batya Ungar-Sargon, a Democrat Congresswoman from Brooklyn. She appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room broadcast on Rumble, and spoke honestly about Trump’s support among the working class. Most of her comments reflect the contents of her recent book, Second Class – How the Elites Betrayed America’s Working Men and Women. Below is a lengthy excerpt from Batya’s discussion with Steve Bannon on March 7, 2024. It’s a longer segment than I normally post, but well worth reading. In response to Steve Bannon’s statement that the Democrats are the party of the “working class,” Batya said the following:

“Batya Ungar-Sargon: No, that’s complete nonsense. The Democrats are the party of the college credentialed elites and the dependent poor. So, all of their policies are either about flattering the vanity of the rich or sustaining the poor -- that won’t work. And meanwhile, everybody in the middle, the hardworking people who listen to your show, who you know about and who you respect, they were not represented by either party until Trump came along. And Trump showed up and said, wait a minute. Why is no one standing up for the hardworking American? And what I did for this book is I traveled around the country and interviewed working class Americans. And let me tell you something, Steve, and you know this. Working class Americans, whether they vote for Democrat or Republican, whether they’re liberal or conservative, they all have the same views. Like, neither party is really speaking to them. They all agree by and large about the most important issues. Polarization is a totally elite phenomenon.…..Look at the party platform, whether it’s the GOP platform or the Democratic platform, and they’re like, check, check. Whatever the party tells them is the good and the right they agree with. So, there’s no natural connection between supporting abortion on demand and believing in climate change and supporting an open border. Those things were cobbled together because they are all in the interests of the leftist elites. And so if you’re in those leftist elites, you’re like, oh, these are all my priorities. If you are a hardworking American, those are not your priorities…. The American working class is deeply tolerant, and so that is how they approach the world…Let me tell you something. 97% of donations coming out of Silicon Valley go to Democrats. The majority of Americans making over $500,000 a year are Democrats. Nine of the ten richest counties in this country now vote for Democrats. And the majority of donations coming out of Wall Street went to Joe Biden and not to Donald Trump because these elites hate Trump because he represents the return of the middle class, the rise of the working class, and the pride of the working class. That’s what they hate and why they write this stuff, this drivel. Wow! That sounds like a Donald Trump, MAGA Political Ad – yet it’s a Democrat! I applaud Batya, she is honest and perceptive – willing to listen to “working class” people. The Wealthy Elite, like most of their class – have no sympathy for those who work, or live paycheck to paycheck. There is a general disdain for We the People in the Midwest Rustbelt or the Bible-Belt South. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that these Elites: “are embarrassed by MAGA Voters,” and consider themselves more refined, intelligent and sophisticated. It’s that disdain which is behind another recent book, written by a “woke academic” and a member of the “media elite,” who can’t hide their hatred – for and disdain of – common working-class people. The Book is entitled: White Rural Rage – The Threat to American Democracy by Tom Schaller and Paul Waldman. This book is a polar opposite of Batya Ungar-Sargon’s Book: Second Class – How the Elites Betrayed America’s Working Men and Women. The question I’d like to ask and answer is:  How can two books – claiming to look at the Working Class in America be in such disagreement?

The simple answer is: Tom Schaller and Paul Waldman represent the Elite-Intelligentsia. They have a hard time masking their hatred toward their Perceived Enemy: The Working Middle Class. While in the Elite vernacular, they use the word Rural, to represent White, Christian, Hayseed Hicks living on farms and in Rural communities. But Batya Ungar-Sargon, just like Michael Moore in 2016 understood how All Working Class Americans are being left behind and disenfranchised by the “Woke-Uni-Party” in Washington, D.C., she actually talked with them! Truth is, these Elites Hate all Working Class Americans, not just Rural Farmers who Cling to their God, Guns and Religion, but all Blue-Collar Americans. Many of these live in former big cities in Rust Belt America – whether they are White, Black or Hispanic! Remember, Barack Obama said as much when he was on the campaign trail in 2008. These Elites really are Equal Opportunity Haters, they denigrate any American who won’t obey the tenets of their Woke-Pseudo-Marxist Agenda:

EIGHT TENETS OF THE WOKE-PSEUDO-MARXIST AGENDA:

1.) MAGA Republicans are the “greatest threat to American Society,” even greater than Terrorists From Hostile Countries who actually want to do us harm. 2.) Everyone must support the Anti-Family LGBTQ Agenda, and persecute anyone who believes in, or supports the Nuclear Family, or might oppose Abortion on Demand!  3.) Their new Woke-Religion of Manmade Climate Change must be pursued – even if it puts every Blue-Collar Worker out of a Job.  4.) The new Global Economy demands that we ship all menial-labor-intensive jobs outside the U.S., mostly to Third World Countries. American workers need to “just get over losing their jobs and way of life. They can just all become computer programmers or find work in high-tech.  5.) Only Religions that practice the “New Definition of Tolerance” can be permitted by Law.  Every other Religion that teaches Morality, or any Exclusivity in its Tenets is Racist, Homophobic, and Sold Out to Big Oil.  6.) All Federal and State Governments have the right to Exclude, Intimidate and / or Arrest anyone who does not submit to Mandated Healthcare Directives, all for the common good. 7.) Anyone who opposes unrestricted illegal immigration without vetting is a Xenophobe and a Racist! And finally, 8.) Funding Endless Foreign Wars with Billions in Taxpayer dollars is necessary to preserve Democracy.  We must keep the “Military-Industrial-Complex” (all friends of the Elites) fully funded.

This is quite a list, but represents the Biden, Washington D.C., Uni-Party Agenda, and explains the last three years of a Declining Economy, Muddled Foreign Policy, and the Unrelenting Campaign against any American who disagrees. I see White Rural Rage as a precursor to the Democrats outlawing their Political Opponents – actually making it Illegal to disagree with them!  The “January 6th Show Trials” have already shown what the Obama-Biden-Administration has done to their political opposition.  If or when Joe wins re-election, the Gloves Will really Come Off. Any disagreement will be met with the Arrest of Political Dissidents, those Raging White Rural and Blue Collar Americans, who disagree with the State’s Woke-Pseudo-Marxist Agenda.

Let me close with a good news and bad news application. The good news is, it’s not just White Rural Americans who truly understand the intent of these Anti-American Tenets that these Woke-Pseudo-Marxists are promoting.  In increasing numbers, African American, Hispanic and even Asian Americans are filled with rage at the destruction of the American way of life. This may swell to epic proportions and create an Electoral victory for the Champion of the Disenfranchised American Working Class, Donald J. Trump. The bad news is, the Woke-Pseudo-Marxist mob who runs most government apparatus, is still in charge of counting the vote.  Even if Trump forestalls being Convicted, Sentenced and Jailed on Faux-Felonies, it’s still an uphill battle for him to Win, and then Govern. Far too many people have sold-out to the Elites and their endless supply of government cash.

My encouragement to all my readers is to be reasonably involved and get out the vote. But more importantly, spend time on your knees – asking God for a spiritual revival in this great land. Looking at the formidable enemies of the Working Class and the Poor, the only way America’s demise will be slowed or stopped – will happen by a merciful God bringing Spiritual Revival.  America has never needed to turn to God more in repentance and faith, than we do today!
