American Ingrates! Or Are We Looking at A Communist Takeover?

Bribed, Blackmailed & Brainwashed:  “Biting the Hand that Feeds You”  – Part #26

There have always been unthankful people. For as long as ‘fallen men and women’ have walked the cursed ground of this old earth, there have been people who had plenty, who were not thankful for what God had given them. That’s the indictment Paul gives in Romans 1:21 – “They did not honor him as God or give thanks to him.”  What is new is the rise and popularity of people who openly “bite the hand that feeds them.” That old proverb spoke of a vicious dog or other pet – who despite being fed and well taken care of by its owner, still viciously bit him, often while its owner was in the process of providing food. Wor n as a ‘badge of honor,’ many popular influencers today boast about how they despise ‘Patriotism and Loyalty’ to the country in which they live. As ironic as it sounds, those who grew up with ‘plenty’ are often the ones who are the most ‘ungrateful’ for their blessings and privilege in life. Two such examples are the current mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani and a new congressional nominee from Colorado, Melat Kiros.  Both are not natural born Americans, but rather foreign born and brought here at a young age.

Zohran is an ‘enigma,’ in that he’s lived a life of decadent wealth and privilege – yet he complains incessantly about the ‘Rich’ and how he plans to ‘punish them with taxes’ to make them pay their fair share.  But Zohran doesn’t pay his fair share – and would never dream of ‘taxing his own wealthy parents,’ nor does he suffer with the poor and down-trodden. 

During New York’s recent ‘power outages,’ Zohran was never once without ‘power for his air conditioning.’  Zohran Mamdani was born in 1991 to Mahmood Mamdani a ‘Shia-Muslim-Marxist’ father who taught College and an activist filmmaker mother, Mira Nair. His parents raised him in Uganda and South Africa before the family moved to New York City when he was seven. Despite his Muslim faith, Zohran is a committed Communist – just not the poor kind. Melat Kiros, an Ethiopian Greek Orthodox Christian by birth, is also an avowed Marxist-Socialist, practicing lawyer and Activist. What is so strange is that both Zohran and Melat come from ‘successful families’ who have greatly prospered because they lived in the United States – yet they decry this country as ‘decadent, racist and hateful toward the poor.’  Both their lives are a ‘total contradiction of their political ideologies.’ They both have gained and prospered because of living in the United States. Neither was constrained by any barriers because of their race or gender while becoming quite successful.  In Scripture, there are many examples of wealthy and ungrateful children of ‘rich and important men’ who became corrupt, some of them unexpectedly.

We see King Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, completely fracture his father’s kingdom through ‘arrogance and a complete lack of understanding.’ With the young ‘advisors’ he surrounded himself, we expect this behavior. But reading in Judges of an Old High Priest – Eli and his successor, Samuel, a Godly Prophet and Judge – it’s hard to imagine that both of them had a pair of corrupt and rebellious sons. Let’s first look at Eli, a High Priest and descendant of Aaron, ministering to the Lord when the ‘Tabernacle’ (tent) of Israel’s God was still set up in Shiloh. As the narrative goes, Hannah, Samuel’s mother – in answer to prayer, gave Samuel, her son, to the Lord as a gift. She did this in response to God answering her prayer and giving her a son, after being ‘barren’ for years. Eli raised Samuel as a son and a servant of the Lord in the Temple. Samuel was used mightily by God! But Eli also had two natural sons, Hophni and Phinehas, who served as priests with Eli. They were described as “worthless men" who did not respect or honor the Lord or His Law (1 Samuel 2:12). Scripture uses several verses (1 Samuel 2:12-17, 22-25) describing Hophni’s and Phinehas’ treacherous behavior before the Lord.  In contrast, here was this young boy, Samuel, wearing a priestly garment (a linen Ephod), serving Eli and the Lord faithfully. The contrast could not be more profound!

Eventually, Hophni and Phinehas arrogantly brought the ‘Ark of the Covenant’ into battle, thinking that the presence of the Lord Himself would ‘magically’ win the battle. They ended up dying – and the Ark was captured by the Philistines. Even though they were consecrated Priests, their problem was, they thought of the things of God as just one more ‘talisman’ (an object ascribed with magical powers). They never understood that they represented a ‘holy God’ who was ‘not to be trifled with!’  But Samuel himself raised two sons who were neither faithful nor honest men. Here’s what 1 Samuel Chapter eight records regarding Samuel’s sons:

“When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel. The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. Yet his sons did not walk in his ways but turned aside after gain. They took bribes and perverted justice” (1 Samuel 8:1-3).

This is quite ironic to me. You’d think that Samuel would have done a better job than Eli, raising his sons. But what’s more surprising is that Samuel would appoint them ‘Judges over Israel.’ There are lessons to learn from these examples. First, even good parents can have their children turn out bad. Second, parents are ever hopeful concerning their children – often the last to acknowledge that they are corrupt or dishonest. And Third, successful and / or prosperous parents often bring their children up with false expectations – often created by their parents’ success, position or fame. History is littered with the 'carcasses of ungrateful children from successful men and women.’ Why is this so often true? My simple answer is that ‘our fallen human natures are predisposed to corruption, lust and dishonesty – especially when we don’t have to strive (work) for success to enjoy abundance.’ Our fallen natures need constant correction and strong parental discipline, or our sins’ natural tendency is to sink us even lower into our corruption, lust and dishonesty. Scripture makes if clear “to spare the rod, is to spoil the child.” There are far too many verses in Scripture that teach that ‘the rod of correction alone will keep folly from our hearts” (Proverbs 22:15).

Sadly, the way in which the mechanism of depravity works in us, makes us prone to being ‘prideful, boastful and self-righteous.’  Our fallen pride makes us prone to works-righteousness, but it’s also the only means by which we can be raised to be hard-working, honest and decent toward our fellow man.  This is a dilemma only grace can fix!

When we look at both Zohran and Melat, it’s impossible to know the character or ‘the person within.’ But it is clear that both of them grew up with an abundance of worldly goods and much help climbing the ladder of success. Maybe they both worked hard to get through college and succeed. But for whatever reason, now that both are grown adults – they have learned to ‘hate the country that gave them every opportunity to succeed.’ And they promote the most ‘failed ideology’ of this past century. So far from helping their poor ‘constituents,’ their policies will drive the people into poverty, dependency and despair.   Socialism’s record is just not debatable, unless you are completely ignorant of the last 150 years of human history. Here’s how Winston Churchill accurately described Socialism. He said:

“Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.” A speech by Churchill in Perth, Scotland, 28 May 1948.

Karl Marx himself the father of Communism, was a man very familiar with failure in life, ignorance of how the world really worked and full of envy. Envy should just be called ‘jealousy.’ Karl was jealous and hateful toward everyone around him who had attained any measure of success. In his warped and ignorant mind – ‘they must have stolen it.’ That was his way of dealing with his own abject failure in life. Like Marx, both Melat and Zohran are full of unthankfulness, jealousy and hatred toward those who they are convinced, have more than they have. They are American Ingrates!  And by enacting Socialist policies, 'they Promise to Take Away the Wealth of Others with Punitive Taxes!’ To take the ‘failed philosophy of Communism,’ a philosophy that has a record of ‘never working’ – and seek to govern with it – is naïve on all levels. There is undeniable evidence that ‘Communism and Socialism have Failed Every Time it’s Been Tried!’  And yet, to listen to the ‘Neo-Communists’ in America talk, these are supposed to be great new ideas that will help the poor, even the playing field and punish the Rich for their dishonest gain. The reality is, Communism does the exact opposite: ‘It crushes the poor, tilts the playing field toward the upper class and those well connected, to the State, and makes the wealthy even more so!’

The one positive that these ‘American Ingrates’ have is: ‘They are popular to the young, ignorant men and women who frequent our College Campuses.’ Much of American Education has been compromised to train up children to be subservient little ‘vassals’ who do the bidding of the ‘Benevolent State’ – which is not really benevolent at all. This ignorance is reinforced by the ‘Hollywood-Internet-Media-Complex,’ so very few of these young people ever hear any opposing views. We have dumbed-them-down by teaching American History’ by textbook writer, Howard Zinn, himself a Communist. And now, several generations past World War II, a privileged generation of young Americans have no idea from where their freedoms and liberty come!  They have been ‘Brainwashed’ by Government Schools, Higher Education and far too many churches.  We should all understand that “Communist takeovers” are engineered by creating ‘class conflict,’ so please be aware that much of what we hear from these young agitators is ‘Agitprop,’ that is: Propaganda meant to agitate people into Revolting! 

 My prayer is that we will have a ‘revival’ not only of Gospel preaching, but that God would raise up an army of Charlie Kirks who will share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and interact with a ‘Culture of Ingrates’ who wish to tear all authority and structure down – so Zohran, Meta, Bernie and AOC can build another failed Communist Empire in its place!  Let me leave you with a great quote by C.S. Lewis, a quote that clearly describes what has happened over the past 80 years – as modern men and women laughed at honor, patriotism and virtue:
