Has Trump Betrayed the MAGA Movement?

Say what you will about President Trump’s style of leadership, but one thing is very apparent: “Donald Trump expects results!” Given the almost insurmountable tasks he is trying to achieve, I can only imagine how frustrated he is with the recalcitrance and foot-dragging of the Establishment Republican Party! While he has produced more positive change in 14 months than any president in my lifetime – he’s done so without the full support of his own party – much less from the “party of resistance,” the Democrats. They have no ideas, can’t govern on any level, and ‘lie so much it’s hard to keep track.’ Their only purpose for existing is to seek power and oppose Donald J. Trump. But there are a few of the MAGA faithful that worry me. Like the picture above from the “Kung Fu” T.V. Series in the late 1960’s, the old Kung Fu instructor had to keep telling his young disciple, actor David Carradine – “Patience young grasshopper, Patience!”

So, even with the amazing results that Trump has accomplished in one year, it’s hard to grasp that some of Trump’s faithful MAGA followers are running out of patience with him. Say what?  How can this be true? Trump is a workaholic, and doing more in a month than Joe Biden did in four years, yet he’s being berated because of one move, with some claiming: “He’s gotten us into another endless war in Iran.”  Never mind that it’s only been three weeks, but many of his followers are screaming “betrayal” at the top of their lungs. And for over a week we’ve been subjected to an endless parade of Deep State Media types – as well as several MAGA pundits with the cry: ‘Trump hasn’t told us what the objectives are in Iran.’ Or, ‘Trump hasn’t told us what the endgame is,’ Or, ‘Trump has still not articulated the necessity for the U.S. to get involved in another foreign war?’ Or my personal favorite: ‘Donald Trump has not made the case for attacking Iran with such ferocity, the U.S. has no business being involved in this war.’ How they now make comparisons between Viet Nam or the Afghanistan / Iraq wars in past years – and the conflict that Iran’s been waging against us for 47 years, is mind boggling. These wars are as different as Apes and Apples! What makes it so hypocritical and irrational is the stark comparison between Iran today and how the Media handled the war in Ukraine since 2022.

In Ukraine for the past four years, we have witnessed staggering death totals on both sides – all the while Deep State Democrats and RINO Republicans have told us that ‘Democracy itself stands in the balance if Ukraine loses this war to Russia.’ Even after four years and hundreds of billions of U.S. Taxpayer dollars – Ukraine has NEVER BEEN CALLED A FOREVER WAR by the Deep State Democrats and RINO Republicans.  But the bombing and neutralizing of Iran was called a Forever War within the first week of fighting. The very questions with which they still bombard Trump – WERE NEVER ASKED OF BIDEN REGARDING UKRAINE!  It was Trump who brought up the stupidity of the war and waste of life by Russia and Ukraine, along with the wasted money and resources of the U.S.  I guess I just don’t remember Ukraine attacking the United States or our interests – EVER!  And I’m struggling to remember how Ukraine funded “global terror” using Ukrainian proxies to attack Americans and our interests abroad. And I really struggle to understand how Vladimir Putin attacking a country that had been part of Russia and the Soviet Union since the time of Peter the Great (circa 1709), was a threat to American interests or Democracy? I think it’s fair to ask: “How many American soldiers have been killed by Ukraine or her proxies? How many wars has Ukraine fomented against allies of the United States?” I could go on for this whole blog, but I think you get my point. I’m amazed that for 70 years the Marxist-Democrats never spoke an ill word about Soviet Communist Russia. But now that China has infiltrated and subverted Western politicians with money – they discovered that Russia was a brutal country with expansionist aims!

Before I make my case for giving President Trump the ‘benefit of the doubt,’ let me state from the start that Donald Trump has earned my trust – even if I don’t fully understand the objectives, time-line and strategy of the war campaign. I happen to be old enough to remember the Viet Nam War. I was also very tuned into what happened in 1979 when failed president, Jimmy Carter, abandoned the ‘pro-American’ government of the Shah of Iran, and turned the country over to a small group of radical Non-Persian Islamic Clerics.  Most Democrats are just not good at doing the math. We need to review the toll of blood, repression and destruction that the Ayatollahs and Radical Islamists have brought upon the Iranian people for the past 47 years. We also need to include the death and destruction that Iranian-backed Radical Islam inflicted upon many peoples in the Mideast – including the U.S.  Then compare those horrific statistics to the ‘worst behavior ever perpetrated by the Shah of Iran,’ the ratio has got to be 100:1! The Shah was a ‘toothless pussycat’ compared to the bloody violence of the Ayatollahs and Religious Mullahs in Iran.  We did not start a war with Iran in 2026 – it is Iran which has been waging a vicious war against America since 1979! The only difference happening now is: ‘President Trump is finally fighting back!’ I think this discussion is mostly a distraction, as the real focus needs to be on Trump’s overall strategy as President, waging war on America’s enemies, both Foreign and Domestic!

There’s no doubt that Trump has an amazing strategy: Reverse the downward spiral of ‘appeasement and capitulation’ to despots around the globe, and use our economic clout and military strength to be a force for good. Virtually every president in my lifetime has ‘mouthed words’ saying we need to stand for freedom and help oppressed peoples. Sadly, most of our leaders were influenced by “The New World Order,” working with global finance to reward and punish as they saw fit. It was all about compliance – until Trump! Donald is motivated by an older vision of freedom and self-determination that displays support to our friends – and strength to America’s enemies. When Trump took office again on January 20, 2025 – he sent a clear message to enemies, foreign and domestic, ‘We have to fight against both!’

To be honest, I too am worried about the U.S. – Israeli war against the Mullahs in Iran. As Viet Nam, Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya have taught us – there are dozens of bad outcomes possible after toppling even a despotic regime like that of Saddam Hussein. Both George Bush senior and junior are a living testament to “having no clear objective” when they started wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And just because we have military superiority – especially from the air – doesn’t mean that we will win the peace. Iran was the most ‘Culturally Western’ Islamic nation in the Mid-East prior to the toppling of the Shah’s monarchy. But for the past 47 years, those secular forces have been suppressed and in hiding while the Religion of a 7^th Century Barbarian has crushed the Iranian people. The Ayatollahs are not just backward and barbaric, but are deluded with glorious visions of their fulfilling ‘End-Times’ prophecy – fueled by a belief in the ‘coming of the Twelfth Imam!’ It’s this radically insane religious mindset that makes their ‘acquiring a nuclear weapon’ unacceptable to thinking people in the West. Even the brutal dictators in North Korea, China or Russia still want to survive. These Mullahs are on a religious crusade – willing to plunge the world into ‘nuclear war’ – as long as they can bring in the ‘Worldwide Caliphate!’ 

The risks of fighting this war are manifold on both sides.  We’re truly ‘damned if we do, and / or damned if we don’t!’ We’ve tried appeasement, giving them Billions in cash like Obama, and ignoring their constant aggression to everyone in the region!  But the Mullahs in Iran have achieved something that no one thought possible: They have united Arab and Israeli forces ‘against them!’  What strange ‘bedfellows!’ Iran is not loved by anyone, except Russia and China. The difference today is that we have an actual leader – not caretakers / figureheads like Obama and Biden, and not a clueless Deep-State puppet like George W. Bush! I do believe with all my heart that Trump will not get the U.S. stuck in another “quagmire” as previous wars became.  His intentions are right – but he’s not going to ‘signal his punches’ so the Mullahs (or what’s left of them) can ‘wait him out.’ I pray that the Iranian people will once again enjoy political freedom and rejoin other nation-states in a global community of relatively peaceful commerce and relations.  And none of us knows what God in Heaven intends for Iran. There are countless stories of amazing conversions – with Iranians ‘receiving visions and dreams’ of Christ that defy common sense. 

For those who only gave Trump a few days to get in and out, I only respond as Master Po, Kwai Chang Caine (David Carradine's teacher) commented many times during the Kung Fu T.V. series: ‘Patience young grasshopper, patience!’
